SARGODHA: A man allegedly killed his brother and his family, injured one and later killed himself on Tuesday in Khana Colony near Sial Mor motorway interchange, some 40 kilometers from Sargodha.

The police said Noor Din Khan shot dead the six people of his brother’s family and injured his nephew Duran Khan before committing suicide.

The district police officer (DPO) and Lukseen police with Rescue 1122 visited the spot and collected evidence from the scene.

Those killed included Akbar Khan, his sons Qalam Din and Jamal Khan, wife Shaho Bibi, daughters-in-law Shaista Bibi and Burang Bibi and Jamal Khan. The police shifted the bodies and injured to the Sargodha District Headquarters Hospital.

Noor left his suicide note in a video message in Pushtu that his brother Akbar always maltreated his mother and he was responsible for her death. He alleged that his mother died after a piece of bread got stuck in her esophagus and no one bothered to help her and consequently, she died. He also alleged that his brother usurped his inheritance and used to maltreat him and mother.

Chief Minister Usman Buzdar sought a report into the incident from the inspector general and the DPO reported that the massacre was the result of a family dispute and that Noor was mentally unstable.
