RAWALPINDI: Vice Chairman of Central Military Commission (CMC) of China General Xu Qiliang met Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ.

During the one-on-one meeting, matters of mutual interest, avenues to enhance bilateral defence collaboration and regional security particularly the situation in India-held Jammu and Kashmir came under discussion.

The COAS appreciated China’s support to Pakistan on all important issues particularly Kashmir. The visiting dignitary affirmed that China greatly valued its time-tested relations with Pakistan and its army and was looking forward to solidify this relation.

The one-on-one meeting was followed by delegation-level talks. Later, a memorandum of understanding was signed by the two sides for enhancement of defence cooperation and capacity building.
