SUKKUR, Jan 14: The senior director, Board of Revenue, Sindh, Manzoor Hussain Bhutto directed all the revenue officers to issue assessment bill of revenue recovery of Kharif 2001 to the Khatedars by Jan 31.

Addressing all the EDOs (Revenue) of Sukkur, Ghotki, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, Shikarpur, and Jacobabad Districts at the DCO office, Sukkur, he asked them to issue assessment orders and notices against defaulting Khatedars who had not submitted their Agriculture Income Tax Returns and see that they were not unnecessarily harassed.

He also directed them to dispose off their pending cases of Land Reforms immediately.

The meeting also reviewed the comparative position of demand and Jamabandi items of Kharif 2000-2001, progress of Agriculture Income Tax Returns and notices issued, disposal of resumed land available in Jacobabad and Ghotki districts and other related matters.

DEVELOPMENT SCHEMES: The district coordination officer, Sukkur, Nisar Ahmed Siddiqi held a meeting with EDOs and reviewed the progress of various development schemes being initiated by the government, Sukkur District, under the KPP, the ADP, and other programmes.

The DCO informed the meeting that the Federal Government would provide funds for the development of the education sector including repairing school buildings, providing furniture, etc.

He asked the EDOs to prepare the proposals of schemes for the betterment of the general public which would be presented at a meeting of Nazims scheduled to be held on Jan 16.

The EDO (Works) informed the meeting that 88 per cent of the KPP Phase-II development schemes has been completed so far and the work on Atta Hussain Shah Degree College was under way which would be completed by the end of February.

He directed all the EDOs to be careful regards over-billing and defective meters.

He also directed the TMOs to improve the water supply and drainage system in their respective Talukas in order to avoid any cry from the general public.
