Four die in road accident

KHANEWAL, July 29: Four people were killed and several others injured, four of them seriously, when a passenger wagon collided with a truck near here on Friday.

Motorway Police said when the Multan-bound wagon (MRB-8016) reached near Qadirpur Raan, it hit a truck (LID-1026) in the rear as its driver dozed.

The three dead have been identified as Abdul Majid (driver), a resident of Mian Channu, Muhammad Ashraf of Makhdoompur Pahoran and Muhammad Aslam of Dera Ghazi Khan, while the identity of the fourth could not be ascertained.

The four seriously injured passengers who have been admitted to Nishtar Hospital are Hafiz Muhammad Khalil of Chak 88/10-R, Khanewal, Ghulam Qadir of Mian Channu, Slato Mai, a resident of Khalilabad, Khanewal, and Muhammad Aslam of Wanoi, Khanewal.

The Qadirpur Raan police have taken the wagon and the truck into custody and started investigations.—APP
