ABBOTTABAD, July 28: Balochistan outclassed Higher Education Commission (HEC) 3-0 to cruise into final of 18th National Youth Football Championship on Thursday. Balochistan had upper hand and led 2-0 at interval. Mohammad Asghar opened the account in the 31st minute while on the stroke of half-time right-winger Waqas slammed home off an Ahmad Khan corner. Ahmad netted the third in the 65th minute with a close-range drive.

Wohaib Club will take on Islamabad Football Association in the second semifinal after defeating Punjab in a re-match. Technical officials ordered the rematch after Punjab lodged a protest against two Islamabad players. Islamabad again won 4-3.

The final will be played on Friday.

The event is being held to spot players who will represent Pakistan in AFC Youth championship qualifiers against Uzbekistan on Nov 23 and Tajikistan on Nov 25 in Tajikistan.—APP
