Eidul Azha

Published August 10, 2019

ALTHOUGH there are designated sacrificial animal markets, you see sacrificial animals in makeshift markets without proper arrangements in many areas.

People slaughter animals on roads, and offal and blood can be seen on roads during during the days of Eidul Azha. This creates unhygienic conditions and an unbearable smell.

Government and municipal authorities should make alternative arrangements. Tents should be erected in each area in playgrounds instead of streets. The tents should have trained veterinarians, quality fodder, vaccines and other medicines. Goats and cows should be kept separately and there should be a proper registration desk where animal owners are issued a token.

These should be proper drainage and other facilities for sacrifice with registered butchers available at reasonable rates. Offal collection teams should remove offal and other waste in a timely manner.

The authorities should ensure our city is clean this Eid.
