THATTA, July 28: People’s Party Parliamentarians MPA and district women’s wing president Humera Alwani has accused the district administration of harassing and victimizing Awam Dost Panel candidates at the behest of the Shirazi group.

She gave a list of over 100 women candidates being backed by the ADP in 35 union councils while speaking to journalists at the press club on Thursday.

She said Sindh PPP women’s wing president Shagufta Jumani hed discussed with her plans to motivate rural women for their active participation in the polls.

She alleged that in Thatta, the ruling PML’s Shirazi group was being supported by the Sindh chief minister and it had services of district administration at their disposal.

She said they were using the resources of the government to harass opponents but the ADP would face all difficulties and win polls.

ELECTED UNOPPOSED: Sixteen candidates, including two pairs of nazim, have officially been declared elected unopposed from various union councils of the the district as a result of withdrawal of nomination papers till Thursday evening.

Those elected unopposed include Ms Miri and Ms Jaindi of the Buhara union council, Chitar Mal of the Karam union council, Sawan Mal of the Sukhpur union council and Qasoo Jogi of the Haji Ghirano union council and pairs of nazim of the Shirazi group Mohammad Hashim Panhwar of the Domani union council and Mohammad Moosa Shoro of the Gharo union council.
