PESHAWAR, July 28: Frontier IGP Riffat Pasha said on Thursday that no car bomb and suicide attacks had taken place in the NWFP over the past two years, due to better policing.
He was talking to a two-member joint delegation of French and Spainish police, which called on him at the Central Police Office here on Thursday.
The three sides pledged to remain in liaison and exchange necessary information in high profile cases.
They discussed matters of mutual interest with special reference to terrorism, crimes and investigation, said an official statement.
The IGP briefed the delegation on steps taken for the elimination of terrorism. Anti-terrorism courses were being conducted regularly to help fight the threat, he said.
The three sides exchanged views on modern techniques of investigation, the need of training and modus operandi of probe operation.
The team appreciated the professional commitment of the NWFP police and stressed the need for bringing more improvement and betterment in their training.
Francois Zablot, police captain of the International Technical Police of France, and Jose Cassinello of Spain were team members.
