RAWALPINDI: Federal Minister for Aviation Chaudhry Ghulam Sarwar Khan on Saturday claimed that the senators polled in favour of Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani in no-confidence resolution had a clear conscience.

Speaking at a press conference, the minister denied any role of money in fresh senate chairman election.

He said the no-confidence motion was uncalled for particularly when the chairman was running the house neutrally.

He strongly condemned National Party’s Hasil Bizenjo’s statement regarding state institutions, and said the leader supported enemy’s narrative and sought a treason case against him.

Hasil Bizenjo’s remarks were basically a reiteration of Indian stance, he added.

He said Jahangir Tareen had not played any role in the voting process and it was transparent.

The aviation minister said that Nawaz Sharif had weakened state institutions.

He claimed that the opposition was divided and has failed to gather on a single platform.

Nawaz Sharif and Zardari have weakened the state in the name of democracy.
