LAHORE, July 27: Pakistan tennis coach Mohammad Khalid has said that the final programme of touring Iran from Aug 8, as part of the preparations for the next Davis Cup tie against Chile, would be announced after country’s top star Aisamul Haq Qureshi confirms his availability for the tour.

Khalid said that Aisam was currently in Finland and the federation was awaiting confirmation from him.

Pakistan are to face Chile in away Davis Cup tie to be held in September.

The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) has decided a programme for the preparations, including a tour of Iran and Uzbekistan to prepare the team for the tie, cancelling the early programme of holding a long training camp in Argentina before departing for Chile.

Khalid said that the Pakistan team could tour Iran without Aisam as the remaining players needed maximum international exposure before competing against Chile on clay courts.

Khalid said that his first priority was to go to Iran and Uzbekistan with all four members of the team as it would help a lot to implement the strategy chalked out for the tie.
