GUJRAT, July 27: An alleged proclaimed offender was shot dead while another was injured in an encounter with Tanda police near Kasab Wajeed village here on Wednesday.

Tanda police got information about the presence of some wanted men hiding at an outhouse in the village. A heavy contingent of police besieged the area. On seeing police, the outlaws opened fire which returned the compliment. The crossfire that continued for an hour left a PO dead and another injured.

The dead was later identified as Tariq and the injured as Asif.

Police recovered two Kalashnikovs and a huge quantity of cartridges from the site of encounter.

Police claimed that the POs were wanted in several murder cases. — Correspondent
