KARACHI: Nazim opens medical camp

Published January 15, 2002

KARACHI, Jan 14: Our society abounds in such persons who cannot even afford ordinary medical treatment, hence doctors should service the humanity and plan projects which facilitate the poor.

These views were expressed by the City Nazim, Naimatullah Khan, while inaugurating a free medical camp which was held at Ahmad General Hospital and Kathiawar Medical Centre, Tipu Sultan Road, Adamji Nagar on Monday where patients are inspected and treated between 10am and 4pm daily.

Those who addressed the function included Union Nazim Junaid Makati, Naib Nazim Amer Rafi, Tahir Baloch, M.S. Ahmad Hospital Dr. Khalid Bhabha, Ameen Ghazi and Ali Asghar. Former Federal Law Minister Mir Nawaz Khan Marwat also attended the event.

The Nazim said if a hospital, where medical services used to be charged, suddenly starts treating patients free, such a service to humanity should be praised and be continued.

Naimatullah Khan also addressed the function of ‘Sathi Writers Award’ on the silver jubilee of monthly Sathi magazine in which its former editors and young writers were given awards.

He said standard literature is necessary to establish a clean society and inculcate an allegiance to ideology in our youth.

S.H. Hashmi, Athar Hashmi, Inayat Ali Khan and Mir Mushahid Hussain also spoke.—PPI
