ISLAMABAD: A two-member committee of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) is in Pakistan to assess the measures taken by Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) for holding the Davis Cup tie against India in September.

India will make its first visit to Pakistan in the 55-year history of Davis Cup.

The ITF team headed by Richard Simon visited the PTF complex where they were briefed by PTF president Salim Saifullah about the arrangements and measures. Senior vice-president Khawar Hayat was also present at the meeting. The ITF team also visited the Pakistan Sports Complex where the tie will be played on Sept 14-15.

Meanwhile, the ITF officials also held a meeting with DG PSB Arif Ibrahim and discussed the measures that have to be taken by PSB for holding the Davis Cup tie. They also visited the hotel where the players will be staying and inspected other facilities.

The PTF officials later said that the visiting ITF team showed their satisfaction over the measures taken for holding the tie. They added that Pakistan have successfully hosted several Davis Cup matches in the recent past and are confident of hosting the ties against India in a befitting manner.
