BANGKOK: Pakistan’s three member delegation comprising Shiraz Asif, Faraz Ejaz and Asfandyar Khan reached here from Karachi on Friday night to participate in the high profile Softball Asia umpiring and scoring courses being held here from July 20-24. The participants will later have to take an exam on July 25th and clearing that will get them a Level A umpiring certificate that will allow them to officiate in the Practical Field Assessment stage of the Thailand Softball Open Championship.
The scoring course will be conducted by renowned Australian instructor Jennifer Maloney who will lecture the participants on scoring system in softball, home runs, base-to-base signals, etc. Scorers from 27 countries are appearing in the course.
Meanwhile, SFP’s Asif Azeem thanked WBSC Secretary General Dato Low Beng Choo for providing this fine opportunity to Pakistan to send its scorers and umpires to the prestigious international Softball Asia courses in Bangkok and said that it will greatly benefit the three Pakistani participants.
