KARACHI, July 24: Various parts of the city are either without water or have been receiving scant supply for the last four or five days.

Most of such complaints have been received from the residents of Rafah-i-Aam Society, Malir Halt, Malir City, Khokarapar, Model Colony’s Sheet No 22, Nazimabad No 2, Federal B’ Area’s Block 15 (Dastagir Society), North Karachi’s sectors 11/C-2 and 11-J, Orangi’s Sector 16, Korangi No 1 and Sector 32-C, parts of Gulshan-i-Iqbal’s Block 4-A and Crescent Complex of Gulshan-i-Iqbal’s Block 11, Gulzar-i-Hijri, Metroville-III and North Nazimabad’s Block A.

Residents of the affected localities deplored that although they had been experiencing acute water shortage for the last five days, KWSB officials concerned had not yet managed to restore their normal supply.

According to residents of North Nazimabad’s Block-A, they are being supplied water after every six or seven days and as such they are left with no choice but to purchase water from private tankers at exorbitant rates.

“We have repeatedly informed KWSB officials about our persisting water issue but they have not taken any measures for reducing the gap of supply from six or seven days to normal three days,” a resident of North Nazimabad’s Block A deplored.
