PESHAWAR, Oct 14: The Observer Human Development Organisation on Sunday asked the government and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to come to the rescue of thousands of new Afghan refugees taking shelter in some villages of Dera Ismail Khan district.
The organization said the refugees were suffering from diseases and facing scarcity of food.
According to a press release issued here, a meeting of the organization, presided over by its president, Qismatullah Khan, in D.I. Khan, observed that thousands of Afghans had taken shelter in Parwa, Nayvellah, Mahra, Rakh Meran, Ramik, Gunjo and other villages.
