Changes in Ganga Ram management

LAHORE, July 22: Ganga Ram Hospital officiating medical superintendent Prof Fehmida Naheed has made seven changes to improve the administration and functioning of the hospital. The changes have been made following Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi’s displeasure over mismanagement and poor sanitation conditions in the hospital during an inspection. Later, he issued order to suspend acting medical superintendent Dr Khwaja Mahboob Ahmad during a meeting.

Dr Nadeem Ashrafi will work as additional medical superintendent (administration), Dr Parvez Imtiaz as AMS (transport, telephone exchange and cleanliness of medical block).

Dr Fauzia Dost Muhammad will work as AMS (store, reimbursement, nursing hostel and cleanliness of gynae block), Dr Mian Abdul Rauf as deputy medical superintendent (administration), Dr Bushra Sohail as DMS (house officers, Dreamland hostel and cleanliness of surgical wards), Dr Sohail Rana as DMS (accident and emergency) and Dr Abdul Ghaffar as DMS (out-patient department).

PANEL: Meanwhile, the Punjab health department has sent a panel of six doctors to the board of management of Fatima Jinnah Medical College/Ganga Ram Hospital to select three of them for final selection of hospital’s regular medical superintendent by the chief minister.

They are; Dr Mazharuddin, Dr (Capt) Shabbir, Dr Muhammad Hasan, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Qureshi, Dr Mubashar Attique and Dr Fida Ali.

The board of management will meet on July 30 and interview all them for the selection of three doctors. The panel of three doctors will be sent to the chief minister for selection and posting of a regular medical superintendent .ambassador: Fatima Jinnah Medical College/Ganga Ram Hospital principal Prof Akbar Chaudhry has been selected to serve as goodwill ambassador of the City of Houston, Texas.

During a visit to the US early this month, Mayor of the City of Houston Bill White has also appointed Prof Chaudhry as honorary citizen of the City of Houston in recognition of his contribution for the welfare of humanity.
