LAHORE, July 22: Two outlaws were killed in an encounter with police near Mauza Mari of Pakpattan on Friday. According to the Pakpattan DPO, three criminals snatched Rs4,000 from Ashraf on the Pakpattan-Arifwala Road and fled on a motorcycle after injuring him. On information, police chased the criminals. On seeing the police, they took refuge in the fields along the river Sutlej and opened fire injuring constable Asif. The police also returned the fire as a result of which two of the outlaws identified as Amin and Iqbal sustained serious injuries and died on way to a hospital. Their third accomplice, however, managed to escape.

The outlaws were involved in murder, dacoity, robbery and other heinous crimes, the DPO claimed.—APP
