KOHAT, July 22: A teacher of a seminary in the Orakzai Agency, who was arrested by personnel of an intelligence agency on suspicion of having links with Al Qaeda and Taliban, has alleged that he was interrogated by the FBI, official sources and family members said. The teacher was picked up by a secret agency when he disembarked from a passenger coach near Hangu bypass some time ago. He alleged that an American was also in the white jeep with tinted glasses in which he was taken to an interrogation cell.

Hafiz Hisamuddin, who teaches Shariah in Arghinja seminary of Karim Nawasi area of Orakzai Agency, was released in Islamabad a few days back.

Mr Hisamuddin, who belongs to Mamoozai tribe of the Orakzai Agency, was kept in custody for 15 days. He said that he was tortured and asked many questions pertaining to training camps of Taliban and Al Qaeda in the tribal areas and hideouts of Arab families who had taken shelter there.

Governor Khalilur Rehman had a few days ago in his public address in the Orakzai Agency warned tribesmen of serious consequences in case they were found involved in the Talibanization of the area and helping Al Qaeda and Taliban remnants.
