Rodrigues hits rapid century

KARACHI, Jan 13: A swashbuckling unbeaten 109 by Hilary Rodrigues helped KGA Gymkhana register a thumping 196-run victory over Ever Bright CC in the M.S Baloch memorial cricket tournament at the KGA Ground Sunday.

Rodrigues slammed 10 boundaries and a six to steer KGA to an imposing 261 for three in 30 overs. Opener Rajesh Ramesh plundered a 19-ball 50 which had five boundaries and four sixes.

Jonathan Rodrigues weighed in with 53 runs with seven boundaries and Colin Gonsalves was unbeaten with 30.

Ever Bright CC, in their turn, never recovered after losing their first three wickets with only 10 runs on the board before being bowled out for 65 in 19.1 overs.

Left-hander Salman top scored for his side with 27 runs. Andre, bowling an unchanged spell of 10 overs, returned with fine figures of six for 25. Leg-spinner Imran Bashir chipped in with two for six.
