SHANGLA: The mother of minister for information Shaukat Yousafzai was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Butyal village of Bisham on Sunday.

Lawmakers, bureaucrats and journalists from across the province also participated in the funeral prayers. The minister’s mother, 55, has been ill for a year.

Later, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, KP Assembly Deputy Speaker Mahmood Jan accompanied by ministers and MPAs visited Mr Yousafzai’s residence and offered condolences with him.

Meanwhile, a woman was killed and two other people were injured when a jeep plunged into a gorge on Shahpur-Ambela Road on Monday. Locals said the accident occurred due to bad condition of road.

The injured and the body were shifted to rural health centre Karora, wherefrom doctors referred the injured to Saidu Teaching Hospital in Swat.
