LAHORE: Two minor children were injured allegedly by their mother when she was performing ‘an act of black magic’ in Qila Gujjar Singh on Thursday.

Two-year-old George and his elder sister Maryam (3) suffered burn injuries on body parts when their mother Anita tried to perform some trick of black magic on them.

As a part of the practice, Anita took her children to her sister’s house in Qila Gujjar Singh quarters where they were locked in a room. The room was lit with candle lights and the victims were tied to beds.

A goat was also brought and tied in the centre of the room. The victims were reportedly tied from neck with ropes and were brutally tortured. The doctors identified the marks on their neck also. They were also burnt with fire.

The victims’ father said he would leave home in the morning and return at night. His wife had shifted his children to sister’s house and he could not see them for three days. He said he called his wife to bring the children home to which she had started making lame excuses. He said he went to his sister-in-law’s house and found that his children were being tortured. “I tried to stop the practice at which his mother-in-law, sister-in-law and wife resisted,” he said.

He said he, however, managed to rescue the children and shifted them to hospital.

Police have registered a case against the mother of the children and her accomplices who fled the scene. The police were conducting raids for arrests.
