LAHORE: A 15-day theatre workshop for children by the Lahore Arts Council kicked off at the Alhamra Art Centre, The Mall, on Wednesday.

The workshop is being organised by Rukhsana Khan, a noted artiste who used to run Punjab Theatre and had also performed in many plays of Ajoka.

The age limit for the participants is eight to 17 years and the fee is Rs1,000. The Alhamra Children Theatre Workshop, as the title suggests, will be a good opportunity for the teenagers to hone their skill in the summer holidays.

“Theatre is a great activity for children,” said Rukhsana Khan. “Such activities for teenagers are important and Alhamra is doing a good job by providing a platform to the young artistes,” she said.

Lahore Arts Council Executive Director Ather Ali Khan said young Pakistanis were immensely talented and should be provided platforms for exhibiting their skills and creative ideas at the national and international level.
