KARACHI, July 21: The process of promotion of 821 doctors of the provincial health department will be completed in a month’s time, said a high official of the department on Thursday. The official said that a meeting was held on Wednesday with Health Secretary, Dr Noshad A Shaikh, in the chair to discuss matters relating to the promotion of doctors of all cadres.
It was resolved in the meeting that doctors who had so far been failing to submit their ACRs should do so within 15 days, otherwise their cases would not be considered for promotion.
It was learnt that after a gap of about four years, the seniority lists of the Sindh Health Department’s doctors pertaining to various cadres had been prepared and submitted onward for approval, which would be the basis for promotion under the four tier system.
As many as 400 vacancies, including 300 for males, existed for promotion in grade 18 while there were another 400 in grade 19, which included 100 for females.
Similarly, 21 posts of grade 20 are vacant in all, which would be filled with grade 19 doctors.
The meeting was told that delay in promotion cases was due to the reason that doctors were not submitting their ACRs in time.
