KARACHI, July 21: Demolition squad of the Karachi Building Control Authority (KBCA) on Thursday dismantled a number of illegally raised structures in different parts of the city, and issued notices to two projects in Gulshan-i-Iqbal for violation of building laws. According to a KBCA release, illegally constructed roof and the shuttering for columns on third floor on plot 62, RC-12, in Saddar Town were removed. The illegal courtyard on plot 140 RC-5 was also sealed off.

In Keamari Town, the squad demolished the illegal structures raised on compulsory open space on plot 302-A, 307-A, 136-A and 266-A of the New Truck Stand on Hawkesbay Road.

In the same area, plots A-253, 254, 303, 378, 34, 440, 391, 629, 696, 378 and 380 were sealed off due to non-payment of composition fee.

In North Nazimabad Town, the demolition team restored arcades by dismantling the projected illegal constructions in front of shop 11-C of Al-Burhan Arcade on plot SF-14; shop 16 of Samar Pride; and on plot SC-4, A/C-7, all in block ‘E’.

Notices were issued to Nadeem Blessings and Nadeem Pride in Gulshan-i-Iqbal for not submitting with the KBCA the security deposits and booklets containing details of the projects.

The Authorities has warned owners of the project that their NOCs may be cancelled and the site and booking offices of the projects sealed off if notices are not complied with.—APP
