KARACHI, July 20: An international film festival will be held at the Arts Council here from July 31. This was announced by the chairman of the Audio-Video Committee of the Arts Council, Kazim Pasha, at a news conference on Wednesday. Mr Pasha said on the opening day of the event, the president of the National Bank, Syed Ali Raza, will be the chief guest on July 31.

Governor of State Bank Dr Ishrat Husain will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the event on Aug 10.

He said that during the festival 11 films would be screened and these included eight from abroad such as France, Germany, Japan and Holland. There will be two films from Pakistan and one from India.

Classical and comical movies as well as horror films would be screened during the festival.

The vice-president of the Arts Council, Khushbakht Shujaat, said her organization wanted to set up a modern audio visual library. —APP
