TAXILA: A woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband over some domestic issue in Usman Khattar in limits of Taxila police station on Tuesday. Police sources said the man had contracted second marriage with the woman a few years ago and their relationship was not well.

The woman had already submitted an application with the police seeking protection from her husband.

On Tuesday, the suspect beat her to death after they exchanged hot words over some domestic dispute with his wife, police said.

Separately, three robbers shot and injured a man identified as Basheer Ahmed in Awan Chowk area in New Lalazar.

In another incident, a young man identified as Yousaf Khan was stabbed and injured by his two friends over a monetary dispute in Taxila Police station limits.

Moreover, five persons on board a Mardan bound passenger van coming from Rawalpindi were injured when it was overturned on G.T. Road opposite Cadet College in limits of Hassanabdal Police station.

In a another road accident, five persons were injured, three of them critical when a Suzuki van and rickshaw collided on a Rawalpindi-Fatehjang road near Shahpur. Respective police have registered separate cases and started further investigation.
