GUJRANWALA, July 19: The Punjab government has approved the construction of a drainage scheme in Lohianwala union council and released Rs5 million to this effect. This was stated by Provincial Parliamentary Secretary Ms Zila Huma Usman while speaking at a meeting here on Tuesday. She said the public health engineering department had started a survey of the union council for construction of drainage.

She claimed that the government had also released a grant of Rs1 million for construction of drain and streets of the village.

REVENUE RECORD: The revenue record of the province will be computerized while an agreement to this effect has been signed between an international microsoft company and the government.

This was said by Punjab Food Minister Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal while speaking at a meeting here on Tuesday.

He said the Punjab chief minister had allocated Rs5 billion for the project while all government functionaries and revenue officers had been directed to update the record immediately.

He expressed the hope that the people would get rid of the problems about getting revenue record from patwaris in connection with transfer of their agricultural land and property.
