KARACHI: Mahmood Ali Asad dies

KARACHI, July 19: Mehmood Ali Asad, a senior journalist and three-time president of the Karachi Press Club, died after a protracted illness in a local hospital on Tuesday. He was 60. He was a bachelor and is survived by his mother and five brothers. He had devoted his life to journalism, and during his professional career remained associated with Jang, Express, Qaumi Akhbar and Urdu News of Jeddah.

He was buried at Khwaja Ajmer Nagri graveyard in North Karachi. Soyem will be held on Thursday between Zuhar and Asr prayers at the Farooq-i-Azam mosque in Sector 5-C, North Karachi. Arrangements for women have been made at his residence, L-8/ Sector 5-C/1, North Karachi.
