QUETTA, July 18: Two men riding a motorbike gunned down the owner of a school, Syed Tahir Reza Rizvi, and injured his wife on Monday. The assailants opened fire on Tahir Rizvi when he came out of his house in Bungulzai Colony with his wife Narjis Fatima and three children. The children were unhurt.

Police cordoned off the area after the incident and took into custody several people.

Protesters demanding arrest of the killers blocked the road near the Civil Hospital but dispersed after being assured by the home department and police officials in this regard.

The provincial council of the Tehrik Nifaz Fiqh-i-Jafaria alleged that terrorists had again become active in the city and demanded firm steps to curb terrorism and protect the lives of citizens.
