NEW DELHI, July 18: India on Monday rejected recent criticism by the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) of its Kashmir policy. “The OIC has once again commented upon Jammu and Kashmir at the OIC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Sana’a, Yemen. The OIC has no locus standi in matters concerning India’s internal affairs. We reject all such resolutions,” a foreign ministry spokesman said.

Reports said Kashmiri leaders had called on OIC foreign ministers in Sana’a on June 29 and “brought to their notice the ongoing violations of human rights by Indian army in occupied Kashmir.”

Several OIC foreign ministers referred to the Kashmir issue in their speeches. Describing the Pakistan-India dialogue as welcome, they pointed out that there has been no decline in the intensity of Indian army’s cruelties and oppression in occupied Kashmir.
