Mehmood leads opening day

PESHAWAR, July 18: Mehmood Aziz led by one-stroke on the opening day of the 18-hole hot weather golf tournament at PAF Golf Course on Monday. Mehmood bewildered all by taking an early lead with a gross score of 35 over nine holes in the amateur handicap. Sadique Rehman was close on his heels with a score of 36 followed by Major (R) Shuaibuddin with a score of 37.

In the amateurs gross, Adnan Rahim and Saad Ilyas with a score of 42 each over nine holes were the leaders while Squadron Leader Mustafa Niazi with 43 and AIG Ehsan Tufail with 44 were second and third.

In the boys’ under-14 gross, Sher Yar Latif was leader with a score of 41 over nine holes. He was closely followed by Khushhal Khattak with a score of 43 and Azam Khattak was at 44.—APP
