RAWALPINDI: The city police on Monday arrested five people, including a police official deployed on VVIP flying squad duty, for allegedly supplying drugs to students, police said.

City police SHO Shafkat Ali told Dawn that all five suspects were sent to Adiala jail after being produced before the court by the police.

He said following information that some people were selling drugs near MC School Naya Mohalla, a police party, led by himself, raided the area early in the morning and arrested five people and recovered 1.46 kg of heroin and 3.220 kg of hashish from their procession.

Inspector Shafakat said the police were in search of the suspects involved in drugs supply to college and university students from their house for long and they were arrested today.
