LAHORE, July 17: Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) and PTCL started their campaign on a winning note with an identical score 1-0 in the final stage of the national football Challenge Cup at different grounds on Sunday.

KESC registered a 1-0 win over hosts Panthers Club, Faisalabad at the Government Muslim College ground. Shakir Lashari scored in the 5th minute.

The win is important for KESC after they failed to qualify for the 51st national championship because of finishing third in PFF League (Southern Zone) 2004 behind Pak PWD and NBP.

At the Army Stadium, Rawalpindi PTCL beat Sindh Government Press (SGP).

Adeel struck in the 76th minute.
