ISLAMABAD, July 16: National Bank and Karachi Port Trust drew a blank in the National Football Challenge Cup at the Army Stadium in Rawalpindi on Saturday. PT put up a disciplined show but the Bankers indulged in rough play that saw three of their players — Nasir Ismail, M. Tariq and Abdul Aziz — being booked.

Although both sides did make attempts at goal they could not break the ice.

The draw earned the sides a point each in championship.

APP adds from Faisalabad: Two goals apiece by Muhammad Niaz and Arif Mehmood powered fancied Wapda past Pakistan Police 4-0 on Saturday.

It was a one-sided affair that enabled Wapda to top Group–I.

Niaz broke the deadlock in the 25th minute and six minutes later Arif, who scored a brilliant goal against India at Lahore in Pakistan’s 3-0 win last June, consolidated the lead.

Eleven minutes from time, Arif struck his second while Niaz completed the rout in the final minute.
