Adil on goal rampage

KARACHI, July 16: Adil slammed home four goals to propel United Gymkhana to a convincing 6-0 victory over KDA in the KHA Inter-club hockey tournament on Saturday. Adil opened the account in the ninth minute of the game before slotting home his second in the 21st minute. Riaz made it 3-0 two minutes before break.

Mehdi Abbas’s 41st-minute goal was followed by two more by Adil who completed the tally in the 50th and 55th minute.

In another match, Jawaid Aslam and Arif Hanif were on target twice to guide Al-Saghir to a crushing 6-1 triumph against Telecom Gymkhana.

The winners got off to a flying start with Jawaid netting the opening goal in the 13th minute before Arif doubled the lead six minutes later.

Jawaid grabbed his second in the 23rd minute, while Arif got his double four minutes later.

Telecom Gymkhana got their consolation goal through Salman five minutes before halftime. Al-Saghir extended the lead with a 43rd-minute Hasan Raza goal and wrapped-up the proceedings after an Asad effort in the 51st minute.
