KARACHI: Persistent heat wave in the city and lack of competition has compelled the Karachi Race Club (KRC) to cancel the weekly Gymkhana race meeting being scheduled to take place at the Karachi Racecourse on Saturday.

‘Yes the races have been cancelled on two counts — the weather conditions and fewer entries,’ a spokesman for the KRC told Dawn on Friday.

As per normal practice, races takes place during the first three weeks of Ramazan.

According to him, the next meeting is slated for May 18.
