ISLAMABAD, July 16: The Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) is contemplating to centralize its examination system to curb paper leakage incidents, a senior university official told Dawn. Every now and then, the university is witnessing incidents of paper leakage before examinations, which is bringing a bad name to the university.

Recently, a cleric of the university’s Physics Department leaked two question papers.

Earlier, the controller of examination and head of Biology Department were sent on early retirement on the confirmation of their involvement in a PhD thesis scam.

The recent leakage of question papers has disturbed the university administration in real terms, a source said. He said the administration considering taking some practical measures to plug all the loopholes in its examination system.

He said a centralized examination system would be introduced.

The QAU is considered one of the best universities in the public sector and over the years it had established its name both inside and outside the country.

However, for the last few years a number of unfair means cases had dented the varsity’s reputation.

A senior professor of the university said the QAU needed overhauling both in terms of examination system and its administration.
