KARACHI: The Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) on Friday staged protest demonstrations in different city areas and demanded immediate release of dozens of youngsters belonging to the Shia community, who had been missing for the past several months.

The protest was part of the MWM’s ongoing sit-in outside the residence of President Dr Arif Alvi in Mohammad Ali Cooperative Housing Society.

The demonstrations were held in different city areas which were attended by a large number of people.

Major demonstrations were held outside Jama Masjid Khoja Isna Ashari in Kharadar; Jama Masjid Noor-i-Iman in Nazimabad; Jama Masjid Hussaini in Baraf Khana, Malir; Jama Masjid Mustafa in Abbas Town; Jama Masjid Jafaria in North Karachi, which were jointly organised by MWM, Jafria Alliance, Imamia Students Organisation and Shia Action Committee.

Karachi-based leaders of MWM Allama Baqar Abbas Zaidi, Allama Nishan-i-Haider and others spoke to the protesters.
