Medical college to be set up in Kurram district

PARACHINAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has announced establishment of medical college in Kurram tribal district and upgradation of district headquarters hospital, Parachinar.

Addressing a group of elders here on Thursday, he said that 3G/4G service would be resumed in the area and all the new opportunities would be given to the people of Kurram valley.

He visited the newly-built trauma centre at the DHQ hospital, Parachinar, and distributed Insaf Health Cards among deserving people.

The chief minister said that Prime Minister Imran Khan would visit Kurram soon. He said that Parachinar airport would have flight operations from Peshawar.

He was accompanied by PM’s adviser Iftikhar Durrani, Ajmal Wazir, Kohat Commissioner Syed Jabar Shah, MNA Sajid Turi and Senator Sajjad Turi.

Mahmood Khan said that the provincial government in collaboration with the federal government was preparing a 10-year development plan for the seven merged tribal districts.

He said that the plan would bring merged districts at par with other areas of the province. He said that development schemes would be executed with the consultation of local people.

He said that creating employment opportunities for the youth of merged districts was the top priority of the government. He said that distribution of Sehat Insaf Cards was in progress in all the districts.
