PESHAWAR: The city police on Wednesday arrested 11 persons for their involvement in rioting and damaging public property during the polio vaccine scare on Monday.

A police spokesperson said that Badhber police had arrested nine accused on charges of rioting and damaging public property and also recovered arms from their possession.

The accused were identified as Irfan, Sifaullah, Laiq, Fazal Dawood, Waqas, Subhanullah, Rehmanullah, Adil and Yasir, while two other accused, Sajjad and Hammad, were arrested later.

He said that the private school principal who perpetrated the scare was still in hiding and police were looking for him.

An accused, Nazar Khan was arrested late on Monday and is in police custody, he added.
