LAHORE, July 13: The People’s Party will put up its candidates on all union council seats which its candidates had won in the previous local elections. However, it will make adjustments with the PML-N and the MMA on the seats bagged by the ruling party candidates. PPP leaders Jehangir Badr, Qasim Zia and Azizur Rehman Chan discussed the situation at a meeting here on Wednesday.

According to Mr Chan, the PPP, the PML-N and the MMA will put up their candidates on the seats their candidates had won in the previous elections. However, on seats won by the ruling PML, the parties obtaining the second highest votes would have the right to put up their candidates.

The PPP has finalized its candidates for Lahore, and Mr Chan will announce their names during a couple of days.

NAZIM: The PPP has called for applications from those wanting to contest the district nazim election.

July 20 will be the last date for filing applications.
