Iqra library

Published April 18, 2019

IN a record time of less than a year, from conceptualisation to final delivery, a world class library, befittingly named ‘Iqra’, has been established within the Malir garrison.

Its location amidst the greens, the architectural design of the structure incorporating a prudent use of daylight and the layout itself is awesome. It is, indeed, a valuable resource for visitors and residents.

This very thoughtful and public service initiative by a team led by Major-General Zahid Mahmood must not only be applauded but also recognised by publishing houses and philanthropists who should contribute books and periodicals, to cultivate the reading habit in a society being progressively overwhelmed by the digital tsunami.
