ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Thursday sought more information from India about the Pulwama incident saying it needed actionable intelligence to proceed in the matter.

“A further set of questions regarding the Pulwama incident has been handed over to the Indian High Commission today,” said Dr Mohammad Faisal, Foreign Office Spokesman, at the weekly media briefing.

Pakistan had earlier on March 27, after investigation, rejected the dossier given by India on the Pulwama incident as inadequate and offered to examine any fresh proof — whenever it is available. New Delhi was also given queries about the alleged involvement of Pakistan-based militants of Jaish-e-Mohammad in the Feb 14 attack on Indian law enforcement personnel in Occupied Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

“We await the Indian response to the questions in this regard shared with them earlier,” the spokesman said.

Dr Faisal said that while he could not go into specifics of the queries made by Pakistan, he would like to emphasise that Pakistani authorities needed “actionable intelligence, if any”, which can substantiate their allegations and enable Pakistani officials to take appropriate action against the accused.

“No such intelligence has been shared with Pakistan, so far,” he underlined.

Regarding, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s warning that India was planning another aggression against Pakistan, the spokesman said it was based on “credible intelligence” about “the imminent threat”.

He said that while Pakistan believes in peace and dialogue and not war, any act of aggression would be given a befitting reply.

When asked about Pakistan’s acceptance of Indian proposal for technical level talks on Kartarpur Corridor, the spokesman said there was no link between the Corridor and the threat from India.

In his reaction on BJP’s manifesto pledge of stripping India-occupied Kashmir of its autonomous status, he said, Pakistan rejects such intentions regarding revocation of Article 370 of the Indian Constitution.
