SSP, TJP offices sealed

QUETTA, Jan 12: Authorities sealed the provincial and district offices of Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) and Tehrik-i- Jafria Pakistan (TJP) on Saturday night immediately after President General Pervez Musharraf announced the banning of the two organizations.

According to official sources, after the president’s speech a heavy contingent of police surrounded the offices of both the sectarian groups at Alamdar Road and the Gowalmandi area of Quetta City.

After sealing the main offices the police have taken control of the area. According to reports similar action was under way in other parts of the province.
