GUJRAT, July 10: A police constable was shot dead allegedly by an MPA and a brother of the adviser to chief minister at the Bhring check post in the Bhimber police station limits on Sunday.

Reports said MPA Amir Usman and adviser’s brother Shahid Raza of Kotla Arab Ali Khan were going to Bhring when police signalled them at the check post, but they did not stop. The police chased them and reached Bhring. However, they tried to convince the police by saying that they did not stop the vehicle as they feared an attack by rivals.

On their return, the police stopped them at the check post. Following an argument, Amir Usman and Shahid Raza shot dead constable Nazar Husain.

The Bhimber police have registered a case against Amir Usman, Shahid Raza and five unidentified accomplices.
