QUETTA: Afghan Football Club lifted the trophy of Ufone Balochistan Football Cup 2019 by defeating Jhalawan Football Club 2-0 in the final which was played at the Mali Bagh Football Stadium here on Friday.

Naimatullah put Afghan FC from Chaman in the lead in the 19th minute through a corner. Khuzdar’s Jhalawan tried to level matters but failed to breach Afghan FC’s strong defence line. Jhalawan’s Fazal Muhammad’s header in the 28th produced a stunning save from goalkeeper Hameedullah.

Abdul Rahim doubled Afghan FC’s lead in the 51st, capping a fine attacking move and from then on, they were never really troubled by a Jhalawan side that lacked coordination.

The President of Balochistan Football Association Muhammad Asghar Kasi was also present on the occasion. Ufone’s Regional General Manager (South), Syed Faisal Rizvi handed over the championship trophy to the winning team’s captain Jadeed Khan. Medals were distributed among all top four teams along with cash prizes.
