SAHIWAL, July 9: Noorshah police, on the orders of the district and sessions judge, have registered a case against a sub-inspector and his three accomplices for abducting and detaining two brothers at a ‘forced labour camp’. Reports said Bahadar Shah police post in charge SI Raees Ahmed, along with his three accomplices Qalab Ali, Iqbal and Amir, allegedly picked up two brothers Naseer Ahmed and Farid Ahmed from Bhhuhar village on Jan 25. They brothers were detained in police lockup and were subjected to physical torture. Later, they were handed over to three Pukhtoons, who took them to a forced labour camp, where they subjected them to violence, and severe labour.

One of the brothers, Naseer, somehow managed to escape from the labour camp, while Farid fell unconscious due to torture and hard labour.

Naseer filed a writ petition with the district and sessions judge, who ordered registration of a case against the accused and recovery of Farid. The police, accordingly, registered the case under sections 365, 148, 149 of the PPC and also recovered Farid from the camp. Meanwhile, the people running the camp fled away, the police claimed.

Naseer Ahmed has appealed to the Punjab IG to order an inquiry into the matter.

SHO booked: A theft case has been registered against Shah KOT police SHO and eight others on the orders of High Court’s Multan Bench.

Reportedly, about four months back, SHO Rana Imran raided the house of a woman, Musarat Bibi, in Chak 68/12-L and asked her to give the whereabouts of her brother Fakhri. The woman said she knew nothing about Fakhri as her relations with her brother had been severed. On this, the SHO, along with his eight accomplices, allegedly took away four cattle belonging to the woman.

Musarat Bibi appealed to the court, which ordered registration of the case against the accused. Neither any recovery nor arrest has been made so far.
