QUETTA: Three people, including two brothers, hailing from Dera Ismail Khan were found shot dead in an area close to the Balochistan-Punjab border on Saturday, police said.

The victims were identified as Elam Din, his brother Nizamuddin and Raza Khan with the help of the computerised national identity cards, which were found in their pockets.

The Barkhan police believed that the victims had been killed a couple of days ago at some other place before their bodies were dumped in the Zadin area of Rakhni tehsil.

The officials said they received information about the bodies from locals who had spotted them in the Rakhni area of Barkhan district. The police shifted the bodies to hospital for a post-mortem examination. Doctors said it seemed all the three men had been killed two days back.

The police said it seemed the attackers had pumped bullets into the victims’ heads from a very close range before dumping the bodies in Zadin.

After initial investigations, the Barkhan police officials contacted the KP police, informing them about the killing of the three D.I. Khan residents.
