ISLAMABAD: The women wing of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Monday warned Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmad to stop criticism against party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari otherwise they would go for the encirclement of Lal Haveli.

Nargis Faiz Malik, general secretary of the PPP women wing, during a protest outside the National Press Club said the minister should stop speaking against Mr Bilawal.

“In the past, Mr Rashid had to get support from Nawaz Sharif and Pervez Musharraf to secure his seat in Rawalpindi. Now he is depending on support of Imran Khan,” she said.

Criticising the operation against encroachments, Ms Malik said the Punjab government demolished houses of poor people and is now giving a house to its chief minister.

“A large number of federal ministers are facing National Accountability Bureau (NAB) cases and they joined the PTI to get a clean chit. The prime minister’s sister has got a clean chit. On the other hand, political rivals of the government are facing accountability,” she said.

Ms Malik alleged that government departments were being used for political victimisation.

“The fact is, sacrifices of the PPP leadership cannot be compared with that of any other party,” she said. PPP Media Coordinator Nazeer Dhoki said Mr Rashid was trying to gain attention by using derogatory language against the PPP chairman.
